Design-Chaos (“Design-Chaos,” “the studio,” “I,” or “me”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information this website collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to design-chaos.com.
Who I am
Design-Chaos is an independent design studio based in Tyler, Texas. You can reach me at info@design-chaos.com or (903) 400-9163.
What this site collects
Information you give me through the contact form: When you fill out the contact form, you choose to send me your name, your email address, optionally your phone number, the type of project you’re interested in, and your message. I use this only to read and reply to your inquiry.
Basic technical information: Like most websites, the server that hosts this site automatically records standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This is part of normal web-server operation and is used to keep the site running, secure, and working correctly.
Website analytics: This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it — which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are located, and what device they’re on. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them through the consent banner (see “Cookies and analytics” below). I use this information in aggregate to improve the site; I don’t use it to identify you personally, and I don’t sell it. The site does not run advertising pixels or targeted-ad tracking.
How I use your information
I use the information you submit only to:
- respond to your message and discuss a possible project;
- follow up with a quote or project details if you ask for one;
- keep records of our correspondence so I can serve you well.
I do not use your information for automated decision-making, and I do not sell it.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses a small number of functional cookies that WordPress sets to operate the website (for example, to keep the site secure or remember your details if you leave a comment), plus Google Analytics cookies to measure how the site is used. A consent banner (CookieYes) lets you accept or decline the optional analytics cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. The functional cookies are required for the site to work; the analytics cookies load only if you consent. For the full breakdown, see the Cookie Policy.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics, provided by Google, to collect aggregated information about how visitors use the site. Analytics cookies are loaded only after you consent through the cookie banner. Google processes this data on my behalf; you can read how Google handles it in Google’s own privacy policy. You can opt out at any time by declining analytics in the cookie banner or using Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Who I share information with
I keep your information confidential and share it only with the service providers that make the website and email function, namely:
- My web host, which stores the site and its server logs.
- My email service, which delivers contact-form messages to my inbox.
- Google Analytics, which measures site usage — only when you consent to analytics cookies.
- Security tooling (Wordfence) that helps protect the site from abuse.
These providers process data on my behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. I may also disclose information if required by law.
How long I keep it
I keep contact-form correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain a reasonable business record, and then delete it when it is no longer needed. You can ask me to delete your information at any time (see “Your rights”).
Your rights (Texas residents and others)
Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act and similar laws, you have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information I hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete personal information you have provided;
- Obtain a copy of information you submitted, where applicable;
- Opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising. (Note: I do not sell personal information or run targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of today.)
To exercise any of these rights, email info@design-chaos.com and I will respond within the time the law allows. I will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
If you believe I have not resolved a concern, Texas residents may contact the Office of the Texas Attorney General.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact me and I will delete it.
Security
I take reasonable steps to protect the information this site handles, including a security-hardened WordPress setup and Wordfence monitoring. No website can promise perfect security, but I work to keep your information safe.
Links to other sites
This site may link to other websites (for example, a Google Map or a future social profile). I am not responsible for the privacy practices of sites I don’t operate. Review their policies separately.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy as the site changes or as the law requires. When I do, I will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes — such as adding analytics — will be reflected here before they take effect.
